Jonathan Davenport Obituary

BEAVER DAM - Jonathan Blake Davenport, 46, of Beaver Dam left this world on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, surrounded by his loving family in Huntsville, Alabama.  Blake was born in Hartford where he graduated from Ohio County High School before joining the U.S. Air Force and attending Basic Training.  Blake was assigned to the 509th Support Group (Air Combat Command) at Whiteman Air Force Base where he served his country for eight years with valor, honor and distinction as a Senior Airman Fuels Journeyman (2F051) from July 1991-Sept 1998.  Blake’s awards and decorations include:  Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with Valor device and two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, U.S. Air Force Supply and Fuels Badge, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Services Extraordinary Medal, Southwest Asia Service medal with Bronze Star Device, Air Force Longevity Service Award, Air Force NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon-Riffle, Air Force Training Ribbon, and Kuwait Liberation of Kuwait Medal.  During Blake’s eight years in the military, he served in two tours of duty overseas.  After serving in the military, Blake was a recruiter for Tek System in Kansas City, Missouri and Nashville, Tennessee.  Always an avid outdoorsman, Blake loved fishing and hunting especially with his two sons. 

Survivors include his mother Lana (Mike) Montgomery of Huntsville; his father Joe C. (Judith) Davenport of Beaver Dam; two sons: Walker Davenport and Jake Davenport; brother Mac Davenport; step brothers Scott Montgomery and Michael James, two step sisters Karen Buchanon and Amy Mathenia and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 and 9:00-11:00 am on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the funeral home.  Services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Glenn Armstrong and Rev. John Cashion officiating.  Graveside services will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford, Ky. 

Ohio County Honor Guard will perform military rites.  The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Ohio County Honor Guard (P.O.
