William Louis Baumann

October 3, 1958 — July 30, 2024

William Louis Baumann, 65, peacefully passed away, July 30th, 2024, after a honorable battle with pancreatic cancer. While cancer may have ended his life too short, it never stripped his love for his family or his joy of serving others through his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. William was born on October 3rd, 1958, in Clarendon Hills, Illinois to the late Clarence Otto Baumann and Doris Rose Wallmuth. He was one of three children. William is survived by his loving wife, Polly, two sons; Nicholas (Victoria) and Logan (Paige); sister Kay, nephew and niece, Chris and Amy. His most recent treasure was the birth of his two grandsons just three weeks apart; Dax Cameron Baumann (Logan & Paige) and Enzo Rains Baumann (Nicholas & Victoria). Although he held many titles throughout his life, perhaps his most beloved was “Gramps.” Known as “Bill” to most, he spent his career in home health as a Physical Therapist Assistant. After traveling most of the day, he vowed he’d never missed a game of his two sons’ scholastic athletic events. He loved to spend his down time outdoors either by fishing, golfing or working in the yard. Bill was a lifelong sports fan and avidly supported Chicago sports teams. In his later years, Bill felt a calling to support his local community through his efforts in volunteering at the Ohio County Food Pantry. He was a proud member and deacon of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and developed many lifelong relationships through his Christian journey. Even in his final days, he never complained and always thought of others before himself. With his indomitable positive attitude, Bill was someone you enjoyed to be around. In the midst of a difficult circumstance, Bill always felt an endearing compassion and hope from his medical team. His family extends their utmost gratitude to the medical staff and personnel at Vanderbilt University who graciously cared for him throughout his journey. Services will be held at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024 at 10:00 AM with Bro. John Cashion and Bro. Doug King officiating.  Visitation will be Friday, August 2nd, from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM and on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Ohio County Food Pantry. Online condolences may be sent to bevilbrosfuneralhomes.com.
