BEAVER DAM - Thelma Bishop Everly, 91, died Wednesday, Sept 2, 2015, in Columbia, Maryland. She was born June 24, 1924, in Centertown and was the daughter of Lester and Corinne Bishop. For 62 years, Thelma was the beloved wife of Thurston Ray Everly who predeceased her in 2012. Her first husband, Leonard L. Moore, died in 1948. Thelma and Thurston were happiest when they were together and their retirement was devoted to traveling all over the United States and Canada in their motor home and spending time on their houseboat on Lake Cumberland. Thelma was a wonderful mother to her daughters who adored her and cherish her memory. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her. She is survived by Jacqueline Warren of Southampton, New York, and Litchfield, Connecticut; Sheila and husband Carl L. Highgen-boten, MD, of La Quinta, California; Rita and husband Martin Newman of Minneapolis; and Carrie Everly of Ellicott City, Maryland. A graveside service is 11am Saturday at Centertown Cemetery. Bevil Bros. Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family would like to thank Brighton Gardens of Columbia, Visiting Angels and Seasons Hospice for their many kindnesses. They also request that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Seasons Hospice of Maryland.
