Stephanie Dawn Cook Russell

On Monday, July 13th 2026 at 3:55am, our beloved Stephanie Dawn Cook Russell peacefully passed at UofL CVICU.

Stephanie was known to be loving, kind, strong, a Wonderful Mother, and friend to many!

Stephanie was a loved member of First Free Will Baptist Church. When her health declined, Stephanie maintained her faith by the help of her family, her loyal friend (Kim Reeves), her pastor (Tim Hall), her friends, and her church family. We are all very proud of her accomplishments!

Stephanie was proud of her Children, her relationship with God, and her accomplishments in her recovery.

She spent her time journaling, encouraging others, sharing her testimony, reading, watching her favorite movies, singing the gospel, and loving her family.

Left to cherish the memories and light of Stephanie are her children; Dolton Tyler Russell, of Owensboro, KY. Heather Dawn (Russell) Alvey (Mark Anthony Alvey), of Bowling Green, KY. Alongside her Biggest Blessing, Isabella Grace (Smith) Alvey, of Bowling Green, KY.

Also left to love the memory of Stephanie is her Mother: Linda (Cook) Ferguson. Sister: Beverly Shawn (Cook) Clark. Her adored niece: Kira Lauren Maxwell (Maxwell Schmidt). Her Uncle: Allen Ray Ferguson. Her Aunt: Vicki (Hillard,Moss) Ferguson. Her First Cousins: Eric Chadwick Embry (Latisha Embry) and adored family, and Patrick Johnston (Whitney Johnston) and adored family.

Stephanie is proceeded in death by her Father: Richard Allen Cook. Her GrandMa-Ma/“GaGa”, Margaret Emogene Cook. Beloved Memaw Linda Lois Sorrells. An adored Aunt, Sandra (Ferguson) Embry. Her cherished cousin, Brian Keith Hillard.

And many more very loved extended family members and friends.

Please join us during Stephanie’s memorial celebration at her home church, First Free Will Baptist Church (4314 W 5th st. Owensboro, Ky 42301) on August 1st, 2026 with visitation from 12pm - 1pm and service beginning at 1pm.
