Listen to Obituary

Peggy Ann Leach, 74, of Hartford, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving children and in the compassionate care of Hospice of Ohio County. Born on December 10, 1951 in Pleasant Ridge, Kentucky, Peggy was the cherished daughter of the late Charles and Barbara Moseley.

A woman of unwavering faith, she was a devoted member of Hartford Baptist Church for more than 35 years, where she faithfully served and lived out her calling. Peggy earned her Associate's Degree from the University of Kentucky and built a life marked by determination, grace, and quiet strength. As an entrepreneur, business owner, and trusted bookkeeper, she touched many lives through her work and integrity. She found great joy in life's simple and meaningful moments-sewing, baking, decorating, shopping, and especially celebrating Christmas, her favorite time of year. A devoted fan of the University of Kentucky, she rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on her Wildcats. Through her involvement with the Kentucky Women's Missionary Union, Peggy shared her God-given talents on numerous mission trips, always serving others with a generous heart. Above all, Peggy was the cornerstone of her family-a beloved and devoted wife, a nurturing and guiding mother, a proud grandmother, and a deeply cherished great-grandmother. Her love was steadfast, her presence comforting, and her faith inspiring. She led by example, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to Christ. Being a living testimony for Jesus was not just her belief—it was the way she lived every day.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Moseley.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Denton Leach of Hartford; and her three children, Denton Scott (Melanie) Leach of Hartford, Stephanie (Nathan) Howard of Goshen, Kentucky, and Melissa (Dwaine) Willoughby of Fancy Farm, Kentucky. She leaves behind a legacy carried on by her beloved grandchildren: Teeghan Leach (Keevon) Hightower, Hattie Leach, Ethan (Skyler) Howard, Carson Howard, Ryan Howard, Arin (Andrew) Magan, Nathan Moss, and McKenna Johnson; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Penelope Porter, Kashton Leach, Thyri Hightower, Baylen Boaz, Dawson Magan, Canaan Magan, and Karsyn Dye. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Connie (Rick) Combs and her many nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews, who were blessed by her life and love.

Peggy's life was a beautiful reflection of faith, love, and devotion. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered as the heart of her family-their guiding light, their steady foundation, and their matriarch.
