Mark Allen Adkins

August 14, 1966 — December 22, 2025

Beaver Dam

BEAVER DAM - Mark Allen Adkins was born on August 14, 1966, in Logan, West Virginia, to the late Mary Helen Cook Adkins and Paul Gene Adkins. He passed away on December 22, 2025, at Ohio County Hospital, surrounded by love and his family. Though his time here ended far sooner than anyone was ready for, Mark filled his life—and the lives of those around him—with laughter and love.

Mark was funny and outgoing by nature. He had a quick wit, an easy smile, and a gift for making people feel at home. He never met a stranger, only friends he hadn’t talked to yet, and he had a way of turning everyday moments into stories worth retelling.

He loved what he loved, and he loved it loudly. Mark loved softball, especially watching Thea play—whether it was from his DJ chair or keeping up with every pitch on GameChanger. Those games were some of his favorite moments. Sundays often meant the Arizona Cardinals, whether they were winning or testing his patience. He loved America, took pride in his country, and wasn’t shy about it. And if there was 80’s hair band music playing, chances were Mark was in a good mood—especially if it was turned up.

Above all else, Mark loved his family. He shared his life with his wife, Loren, who was not only his partner but one of his best friends. He was an incredibly proud dad, and his children were his greatest joy and favorite subject of conversation. He spoke of them often and with unmistakable pride. Being a Papaw brought him a special kind of happiness, and he adored his grandchildren more than words can express.

Mark also spent time at Beaver Dam Nursing and Rehab, where he was treated with incredible care, kindness, and respect. In a short amount of time, the staff became like family to him. He truly enjoyed “his girls,” and they enjoyed him just as much—singing, laughing, and cutting up together. Those moments brought him comfort and joy, and his family is deeply grateful for the love shown to him during that time.

Mark faced more than his share of challenges, but he met them with strength, humor, and determination. Even in difficult seasons, he remained himself—steady, loving, and full of personality. He showed those around him how much resilience and love one person can hold.

He is survived by his wife, Loren Bevil Adkins; his children, Tabitha Lynn Weishaupt of Valdosta, GA, Brent Allen Adkins (Megan) of Tucson, AZ, and Thea Grace Adkins of Beaver Dam, KY; his grandchildren, Jayden Marie, Zekiel John, and Runa Mae; his siblings, Judy Lusk of Lorado, WV, Sharon Adkins of Utica, KY, and Becky Ault (Brad) of Glasgow, KY; his mother-in-law, Cydnee Dupree (David) of Hartford, KY; his father-in-law, David Bevil (Jackie) of Bowling Green, KY; his brother-in-law, Gatlin Bevil (Emily) of Beaver Dam, KY; his niece, Amber Midkiff (Aaron) of Utica, KY; his nephew, Kyle Ault of Bowling Green, KY; along with many other nieces and nephews and a wide circle of family and friends who will miss his laugh, his stories, and the energy he brought into every room.

Mark would not want a goodbye without smiles. He’d want people to remember him with laughter, a good story, maybe a favorite song, and a simple shake of the head followed by, “That was just Mark.”
