Beaver Dam- Lemmie D. Coots, 80, passed away on Friday, October 07, 2016, at The Ohio County Hospital. He was born on May 3, 1936 in Butler County.

Lemmie served his country in the U.S. Air Force, working with SAC on B-47’s.  He was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church, was a heavy equipment mechanic with Whayne Supply, Sandefur’s Excuvating and Peabody Coal Company.  He loved his family, UK Basketball, quail hunting and had a great sense of humor.  He was a member of Beaver Dam Masonic Lodge #420, and Kentucky Chapter of Campers On Mission.

Lemmie was preceded in death by his parents Harlet E. and Effie Pearl Moore Coots and his brother Jerry L. Coots.

Survivors include his wife Lu Stenberg Coots, son; Mark (Robin) Coots, daughter; Angie Coots (Charlie) Patton, grandchildren; Aaron (Elizabeth) Coots, Kortni (Jamey) Mattingly, Chad (Sarah) Coots, Stephen Patton and Alex Patton, great grandchildren; Dayne, Haley, Sawyer, Harley, Breylen & Kirk, brother ; Larry H. (Martha) Coots, sister-in-law; Dorotha Sandefur Coots and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration Of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at New Harmony Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m..  Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the church.  Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam are in charge of arrangements.

The family request that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Ohio County.  Envelopes will be available at the church.
