Jerry Wayne Southard

BOONVILLE - Jerry Wayne Southard, age 72, of Boonville, Indiana, passed away on April 13, 2025. Born on January 13, 1953, he was the son of John Thomas Southard and Edwina Phelps Southard.

Jerry was married for 52 years to Barbara Grey Southard, who was by his side throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Martha Joan Southard Widner and Ronnie Gene Southard. He is survived by his sister, Debi Clark, and his two beloved sons, Dustin Southard and Zachary Southard. Dustin is married to Jennifer (Harris) Southard, and together they have created a loving family that includes Jerry's three cherished grandchildren: Brittiany Southard, Ethan Southard, and Zoe Southard. Ethan Southard is married to Erica (Feldmeier) Southard. Jerry also took great joy in being a great-grandfather to Ava Southard.

A proud coal miner for 44 years, Jerry dedicated much of his career as a supervisor for various coal companies, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

Outside of work, Jerry had a passion for old tractors and lawn mowers, often spending his free time restoring and caring for them. His love for these machines was a reflection of his hardworking spirit and appreciation for the simple joys in life.

Jerry will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his work ethic, and his passion for life. He leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 21st, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Bro. David Hussey presiding.
