James Earl Allen

Beaver Dam- James E. Allen, 88, passed away Monday, Sept. 4, 2017, at Ohio County Hospital. He was born Sept. 30, 1928 in Horse Branch, son of the late H.E. and Eileen Glass Allen.
James was a member of Beaver Dam Church of Christ, retired from Ken Underground Mines , a member of UMWA and enjoyed time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Velma Allen.
Survivors include his sons: Carroll Allen, Doug (Renae) Allen and Richard Allen; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister Lois Cook.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Mike Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery near Baizetown. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
