Jackie L. Coffman

March 3, 1941 — January 4, 2024

Jackie Levonne Coffman, 82  of Centertown, Kentucky  passed away in Hartford, Kentucky on January 4, 2024. Jackie was born in Coffmantown, Ohio County on March 3, 1941 to James S. Coffman and Nettie Gwendolyn (Gwen) Hazelwood Coffman. Jackie was a coal miner for Peabody Alston Coal Mine in Ohio County as well as a mine in Morganfield, Kentucky. He attended Centertown School and graduated in 1959. He grew up attending West Point Baptist Church in Matanzas, Kentucky and was a member there until his passing. Jackie was also a member of the

Centertown Masonic Lodge obtaining his 32nd degree. The 32nd degree teaches that Man has the Royal Secret. It is the eternal gift of God—LOVE. It cannot be imparted to mortal men by others. It was incarnate when the Father breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul. Cherish this love as a divine attribute, a precious birthright, a witness that all men are, indeed, the sons of God. He was a past District Deputy Grand Master and Shriner with apron number D.D.G.M. He proudly wore his Masonic ring and volunteered his time and service to help others. As a member of the Army, Jackie was a Sergeant in the 123rd Armory. His service to his country was well remembered.

Jackie made Centertown his life-long home and married Paulette Kay (Metzer) Coffman in 1968. Jackie enjoyed fishing, collecting arrowheads, shooting guns and spending time with his family. His sense of humor brought a lot of laughter in his home on holidays, family dinners and spending time with friends.

Jackie was preceded in death by his brothers, Franklin (Frank) Coffman, Bennie Coffman and sister, Wanda Coffman Kirtley. He is survived by his wife, Paulette Metzger Coffman, daughters Lori Coffman Morris (Brian Morris) and Kelly Coffman, as well as  a son, Jackie Levonne Coffman II (Bud) and his wife Danielle. He is survived by his beloved grandchildren, Hunter Frint, Taylor Frint, Brie Coffman, Brennon Tucker, Braidey Coffman, Brier Coffman, James Coffman and Shane Coffman.
