Eddie Lou Bratcher

HARTFORD - Eddie Lou Bratcher, 87, of Hartford, Kentucky, passed away under the care of Hospice of Ohio County on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

She was born on January 12, 1939 in Olaton, Kentucky to the late J.E. and Pearl Payton Reynolds.

Eddie Lou was a member of Olaton Baptist Church and retired from the Ohio County Board of Education Food Service Department after 20 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, canning, playing bingo at the Senior Center and she was a true-blue Kentucky Wildcat fan, but what she loved most was spending every moment with her Great-Grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, James “Kevin” Bratcher who passed away on July 13, 1996 at the age of 27.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 63 years, James “Jim” Bratcher; her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Steve Bennett; grandsons, Alan (Holly) Bennett and Michael (Kori) Bennett; and great-grandchildren, Alleigh, Kinley, Lane and Maci Bennett and Branson Calloway.

Per her wishes, private graveside services will be held.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to New Baymus Cemetery Fund (First United Bank) or Hospice of Ohio County. Bevil Bros. Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
