Delbert Allison “D.A.” Tichenor, age 94, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed to his eternal rest on June 21, 2023.  He was born in Ohio County, Kentucky, on August 29, 1928, to Allison and Evelyn Tichenor.  After serving in the Korean War from 1950 to 1952, Delbert married the love of his life, Betty Taylor York, in 1954 and had three children.  The couple moved to Nashville in the late 1950s to raise their family. Delbert was employed as a newspaper pressman for the Nashville Tennessean for 31 years.  An avid traveler, Delbert enjoyed taking Betty and their three children on cross country camping trips, visiting historical sites and major tourist attractions.  As a hobby, Delbert refinished wood furniture, spending countless hours sanding and varnishing each piece to perfection.  For many years, he and Betty enjoyed browsing antique shops, attending craft fairs, auctions, and estate sales.  He also took pride as the owner of a 1958 Edsel. Delbert is survived by his daughter, Dolly (John) Irish of San Angelo, Texas; son, Patrick (Teresa) Tichenor of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; granddaughters, Sara (Timothy) Braun of Memphis, Tennessee, and Rachel (Anthony) Ward of Pleasant View, Tennessee, and great grandsons, Brooks and Hudson Braun of Memphis, and great granddaughter Adeline Ward of Pleasant View, Tennessee, sisters Reatha Griffin, Linda Ferguson and Marilyn Hopkins. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Tichenor and daughter, Dava Rinehart of Bell Buckle, Tennessee; parents, Allison and Evelyn Tichenor of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; and sibling, Margaret Schroader of Hartford, Kentucky. A visitation will be held at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road, Nashville, Tennessee on Sunday, June 25, 2023, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.  A visitation will also be held in Kentucky
