Clifford Cecil Woolen

Horse Branch-  Clifford Cecil Woolen, 82, died on Friday, December 8, 2023 at OHRH in Owensboro surrounded by his family.

Clifford was born in Grayson County on July 9, 1941 to Estil and Delia Woolen of Horse Branch.  Mr. Woolen worked on oil and water wells most of his life.  In his free time, Clifford enjoyed spending time with his family, watching Gunsmoke with his great grandkids, and talking to his buddies at Horse Branch General Store.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Estil and Delia Woolen, brothers Melvin Woolen, James Woolen and Delbert Woolen, and sisters Jean Arseneau, Wilda Woolen, and Aileen Woolen.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Margie Paulette Woolen of Horse Branch, his two children James C. Woolen of Horse Branch and Angie (Avery) Blacklock of Beaver Dam, his brother William (Sherlene) Woolen of Evansville, two sisters Thelma Hedden of Evansville, and Virble Graves of Mississippi, six grandchildren Jamie Burton of Horse Branch, Andrea (Matthew) Gross of Centertown, Katlyn Woolen of Echols, Ethan Gross of Horse Branch, Samantha (Isaiah) Hurt of Central City, Dusty (Cody) Woolen of Hartford, and Dakota Blacklock, he also had 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews that he loved.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Charlie Lacefield officiating.  Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
