Chaunta Himes

March 25, 1961 — November 7, 2017

Cromwell- Chaunta Himes, 56, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at Ohio County Hospital.  She was born March 25, 1961 in Salt Lake City, Utah daughter of the late Fred Joseph Gamble and Joy L. Jenkins.   Chaunta grew up in Utah, Wyoming, Kansas, Missouri & Kentucky.  She was a graduate of Ohio County High School, she had a deep faith in God and Jesus Christ as Saviour, a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints, a member of Chi Epsilon Sigma.  Chaunta loved quilting and reading but her family and her grandchildren were her world and she had HOPE ALWAYS.

Chaunta worked as a deputy sheriff, Title I instructor at Wayland Elementary and was a secretary at the Extension Office in Hartford.

Survivors include her husband David A. Himes; daughter Amber (Scott) Chinn; son Joseph (Becky) Himes; grandchildren Dalton, Kyle, Tyler, Gracie and Emily; brothers Michael J. Gamble, Dave A. Gamble, Charles E. Gamble, David J. Knapp and Wyatte J. Gamble; sisters Valarie J. Ferguson, Maureen J. Westerfield and Dorothy L. Lamar.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home with Blaine Pieper and Jim Wyles officiating.  Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford, KY.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
