Betty Dian Mcconnell

May 7, 1938 — April 5, 2017

Betty Dian McConnell, 78, of Owensboro died Wednesday April 5, 2017 at her home.  Betty was born in Centertown, Kentucky to the late Harold and Gertie Marie Hill Rowe.  She worked as secretary at Beaver Dam Baptist Church and Hartford Baptist Church and worked for Peabody Coal.  She was a member of Wesleyan Heights Methodist Church, District Officer of United Methodist Women and a member of Owensboro Garden Club.  Betty was very active in mission work including making baby quilts that were used throughout the community.  Betty loved her children unconditionally.  She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest McConnell,  a son-Harold Owen “Toby” McConnell and a brother-Tony Rowe.

Survivors include 2 daughters:Becky Rowe McConnell Clark of Nixa, Missouri and Suzie (Mike) Hertzog of Centertown; a brother-Terry (Rita) Rowe of Port Orange, Florida and a sister-in-law-Cindy Rowe of Owensboro; 6 Grandchildren-Beth Ann Farris, Toby Michelle Rock, Sarah Dian Clark Belkharroubi, Susan Clark, Macie Clark and Madelyn Hempen; 4 Great Grandchildren-Mady Marie Rock, Marley Mae Rock, Andrew Farris and Zachary Gunner Farris.

A graveside service will be held at 12 noon on Friday April 7, 2017.  Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam.  Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam will be in charge of arrangements.  Online condolences may be sent to bevilbrosfuneralhomes.com
