Barbara Minton Jones

Barbara Minton Jones, 89, passed peacefully from this life, leaving behind a legacy of faith, family, friendship, and service. Born on October 7, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Ashby and Pansy Mabrey Ashby.

She was preceded in death by those she loved dearly: her parents; her brother, Rodney Ashby; her sisters, Wiladean Ashby and Lanelda (Jack) Chambers; her first husband, Glendon Minton; and her second husband, Roland "Bud" Jones.

She is survived by her sons, Tom (Kim) Minton and Tony (Terri) Minton; grandchildren, Shawn Minton, Caressa (Phillip) Napier, Spenser Cook, Riley Minton, Wesley (Katie) Anthony, Austin Daniel and great-grandchildren Eleanor, Emily, Abby, Audrey, Presley and Shaylee. She also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, and fellow church members who were blessed to know her.

She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her love of family, and her gentle kindness toward everyone she met. Her life was a testament to the love she shared so freely, and her memory will continue to be a blessing to all who knew her.

In accordance with her wishes, her body was donated to the University of Louisville School of Medicine for medical education and research. A Celebration of Life will be held at Centertown Baptist Church on Saturday, August 8, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Helping Hands in care of Lisa Payton, 5560 St Rt 505 S, Horse Branch, KY 42349.
