HARTFORD-Martin (“Marty”) Carlyle Tichenor, Jr. of Hartford, Kentucky died Thursday, September 12, 2019.
Marty was born in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late Martin Carlyle Tichenor, Sr. and Joyce Sharp Tichenor. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, Martin W. Tichenor and Helen Harper Tichenor, and Gus Sharp and Rosie Ambrose Sharp. He was a member of Bells Run Baptist Church.
Marty was raised in Atlanta, Georgia and was a retired Deputy Sheriff and Field Training Officer of the Clayton County, Georgia, Sherriff’s office. After retirement, Marty moved to Ohio County where he was active in the Republican party and was a member of the Ohio County Airport Board. He very much enjoyed gun sports and the country life.
He is survived by his aunt, Lana Tichenor Taylor of Orlando, Florida, his great aunt and uncle, Joyce Martin Tichenor and Reverend Bill R. Tichenor, by many cousins from both his Tichenor and Sharp families, and by his constant canine companion, Bradley, and his feline buddy, Mr. Cat.
Visitation will be at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home, 226 Louisville Road, Beaver Dam, Kentucky from 9:00 a.m. Friday, September 20th, until time of service at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Bill R. Tichenor officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford, Kentucky.
