Jeanette (Boswell) Hazelwood

Jeanette Reid Boswell Hazelwood died May 29, 2018 @ Ohio Co Hospital with her family by her side. Jeanette was born October 24, 1929 in Spa, Ky to the late John Hubert & Sarah Elizabeth Reid Boswell.  Jeanette was also preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Archie Lee Hazelwood, a granddaughter Jodi Hazelwood Morphew, her two brothers James and Shelby Boswell, five sisters, Lula Lee Moss, Polly Harrison, Frances Bellamy, Mary Oliver Alsup and Sara Westerfield. 

Jeanette is survived by two sons David, wife Claudia of Normandy TN, Joey, wife Judy of Hartford, Ky. Grandchildren, Andrew and Matthew Hazelwood, Blake Morphew of Hartford and Whitney Hazelwood Brough of NC. Greatgrandchildren Ben Wood, Alex Morphew, Blane Morphew, Addison Brough and Ainsley Brough. Numerous nieces and nephews. 

Jeanette graduated from Hebbardsville High School in 1947 and attended Jenkins Business College. Her employment history of 28 years included: GE, Salms Shoe Store, Dawson's Shoe Store, Midway Market, Moonlite Barbecue and Hermitage Pencil Co. 

Jeanette was a member of Masonville Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was Director of the Woman's Missionary Union for Ohio Co Baptist Association, was a member of the board of directors of the KY Baptist WMU and president of the Owensboro Pilot Club. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and having family gatherings. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. 

The family would like to thank our team of incredible caregivers who have blessed us daily since January 2016 with their love, care and devotion to our Mom. You are truly our angels on earth. 

Services will be noon Saturday at Bevil Bros funeral home with Bro Kimbrough Simmons officiating. 

Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Friday and from 9-12 on Saturday.
