HARTFORD-Dennis “Mr. Dee” Donlon, 70, of Hartford died Thursday May 2, 2019 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Dee was born in Louisville to the late Thomas Thomas and Anna Catherine Horan Donlon. Dee worked as a Family Resource Coordinator at Western Elementary and loved the children and community that he served there, he was also employed at Peabody Coal Company-Ken Mine. Dee was a very active member at Beaver Dam Baptist Church. He graduated from Flaget High School in Louisville and Morehead University in Richmond. He enjoyed traveling, loved animals, for many years he ran in marathons and he enjoyed swimming, including the Polar Plunge in Louisville. Dee was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Frankie Adams and his nephew Jon T. Donlon.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years Mary Pat Ranney Donlon; his brother and sister-in-law-Thomas Michael (Kathy) Donlon of Louisville; his sister-Mary Adams of Louisville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill & Denise Ranney of Louisville; nieces-Katie Donlon (Jim) Robbins, Lauren Donlon and fiancé Mika Stevenson, Kaycee Ranney, Kellie Ranney (Heath) Garner, Keri Jane Ranney; nephews-Billy Ranney, Todd Adams, Terry (Michelle) Adams, Tim (Jenny) Adams; great nephews-Carson & Cole Garner, Chris & Connor Adams.
Services are 11:00 A.M. Tuesday May 7, 2019 at Beaver Dam Baptist Church in Beaver Dam with Rev. John Cashion, Dr. Glenn Armstrong and Rev. Doug King officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be 4-8PM Monday at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam and from 9AM until funeral time on Tuesday at the church. The Family request that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Western Elementary Family Resource Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
